WHY AFFORDANCES?

Our Mission

In the language of design, affordances are the properties of an object that make actions possible. In

bad design, they can be redundant and cause issues but in good design, they can improve quality of

life. The mission of Affordances is to make sure that teams are afforded the right tools and processes to create

the best employee experience possible.

Our Values

Humans First: We believe first and foremost that spaces should be built around humans and focused on their well-being.  We do this through practicing empathy in all our work.

Curiosity: Curiosity drives us to find better solutions and move beyond the status quo way of doing things.

Candor: We are open and honest to a fault.  We won’t shy away from pushing your team to make the rights strategic decisions.

Tenacity: In order to fulfill our roles  and push the limits of modern workplace experience we must be tenacious and push against constructs.

Magnanimity:  We believe that everyone deserves to have a great Workplace Experience.  We’re in this to change the way people think about the places they get work done.

I can’t recommend working with Omar highly enough. I was lucky to work with him on a workplace transformation project focused specifically on improving the accessibility of our offices and physical experiences. While this stream of work improved the experience of our offices for everyone, they had a special and particularly significant effect for those with disabilities. Omar not only understood the macro problems in the space, but implemented micro changes (from wheel-chair accessible podiums and adjusting room signage heights to properly merchandising food items for ease of access) that fundamentally shifted the way we interact with our workplace. If you are looking to build a workplace that truly works for *all*, you cannot find a better partner than Omar.

Omar has proven to be a most adept Manager and excellent team leader. His depth of knowledge that extends through base building infrastructure due diligence, lease matters impacting on the tenancy, design principles, project costings, and ultimately the construction process, is thorough and analytical.

With a most engaging personality, Omar has the ability to extract the very best out of his collective team and bring everyone together to believe and work towards the set goals and aspirations required for success.
